Although born in Charleston, South Carolina, Joe is very much a
Southern California native – living here since the age of one.
As a young man he volunteered for the draft and served his term of
duty in Vietnam. Returning home and with the help of the GI Bill,
Joe enrolled at California State University, Fullerton and received
a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management.
After graduation, Joe cut his teeth in business by starting one of
his very own. Gradually becoming more and more involved in
residential escrows, he soon found himself completely involved in
the real estate field. Joe took quickly to the business and earned
his GRI and became a full broker in his first 2years.
Since 1976, Joe has managed a small handful of real estate
companies, owning two of them himself. Additionally, during the
pre-recession period, he worked with new home developers in the
Villa Park area and at one time had as many as 23 agents in his
office. In the 1980’s Chapman University employed him as a
consultant for real estate acquisitions and property management and
his business relationship has continued to grow. But his favorite
part of the business has always been working directly with
individual clients. More than ever Joe is doing just that working
with Orange Realty.
In addition to his busy schedule, Joe has always found time to serve
the community with past membership on the Estate and Trust Planning
Council for Chapman University, Orange YMCA Board of Directors, East
Orange County Board of Realtors and others.
Currently, Joe lives in Glen Ivy with his wife, Darlene. Together
they have four children and five grandchildren. In his spare time,
he enjoys the outdoors, sea kayaking, mountain biking or just
cruising on his BMW motorcycle. Joe loves an active life and even
recently completed the famous Rim-to-Rim hike in the Grand Canyon.
